Full Time Android Developer at Robot Care Systems

Job description/project:

The project you will be working on is our care robot LEA (lean empowering assistant) which is a robotic stroller designed to enhance the ability of elderly people to live independently at home. We are working hard to bring LEA to the market in the coming years and in 2015 we have received multiple awards (Herman Wijffels Innovatieprijs, Shell LiveWire Award) for this innovative concept and design.

LEA uses an android tablet as the main user interface. The tablet is part of LEA and is used to control LEA and receive feedback from LEA. Other than controlling LEA and receiving feedback, the current application includes calendar functionalities, remote video calling, reminders and the ability to play exercise videos.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Background in software engineering / computer science
  • Experience working with Java and Android
  • 2 years of relevant working experience
  • Experience with software version control (preferably experienced working with git)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Working with SCRUM
  • Experience working with Test Driven Development
  • Experience working with Python and ROS
  • Experience with Continuous Integration
  • Experience with Software Deployment

We are located in The Hague, the Netherlands. Robot Care Systems focuses on automated/smart systems for the care market, mainly focusing on care at home. Our goal is to enhance the independence and quality of live of the elderly through technological innovation, while avoiding the appearance of something high-tech /complicated. We work with a young and international team (over 5 nationalities) in a very dynamic & growing working environment. Other than working on solutions for care systems our sister company Robot Security Systems works on security robots for indoor and outdoor environments. There is a close collaboration between Robot Care Systems and Robot Security Systems.
