New packages for ROS 2 Rolling Ridley 2025-06-30

Hello everyone!

We’re happy to announce 54 new package and 537 updates are now available in ROS 2 Rolling Ridley :rolling_head: :rolling:

While 64 packages were removed, they will be restored in future syncs when maintainers release new versions of these packages with fixes applied. We did our best to minimize the number of regressions but we had to move forward with the sync.

The sync was tagged as rolling/2025-06-30 .

:tada: First release of rosidlcpp!

If you’re using the default generators you can simply install the rosidlcpp meta package to install everything.

sudo apt install ros-rolling-rosidlcpp

Since I introduced it there has been one new feature worth mentioning: file that do not change are not overridden. This means faster rebuild, only files from modified interfaces are recompiled.

If you have any issues let me know here.

I’ll try getting versions for Jazzy and Kilted for their next sync.

So just install ros-rolling-rosidlcpp and clean your workspace are the only steps?

Yes that’s all that’s needed. Installed message generators are found automatically when building.
