New ROS Online Course for Beginner

Hi Friends,

I am pleased to announce a new ROS Online Course, this course is a ROS robot programming guide based on the experiences we had accumulated from ROS projects like TurtleBot3, OpenCR and OpenManipulator. We tried to make this a comprehensive guide that covers all aspects necessary for a beginner in ROS. Topics such as embedded system, mobile robots, and robot arms programmed with ROS are included. For those who are new to ROS, there are footnotes throughout the “ROS Robot Programming” Handbook providing more information on the web. Through this course and book, we hope that more people will be aware of and participate in bringing forward the ever-accelerating collective knowledge of Robotics Engineering. Enjoy this summer studying ROS!

Amazing Tutorials

Thanks for sharing these tutorials. It will be of great help to me that I am a beginner.:+1:

Hello!

I would like to thank you for the amazing book! It is very well structured. Even beginners can easily follow along. Despite the book using ROS kinetic I had no problem following it using Melodic.

Regarding the book I noticed some typos and some errors in some sections, If you are interested I can send you a PDF with the errors I found.

Also, the last chapter in the manipulator, It is not possible to complete the gazebo tutorials with Melodic, even using melodic-devel. For some reason the code for controlling the open_manipulator changed a bit and the book does not reflect it. I believe it is not difficult to adapt it to run in melodic but I lack the knowledge.

I really encourage you to update the book to melodic. This was the best free resource I found on ROS. I am now confident of using ROS because of this book.

Again, thanks for your effort and awesome book.

What’s that Book that you’re talking about? Can I have it?
Thanks

It is linked above in the first comment.

Hello,
I am planning to start a ROS course for undergrads and would like to use the content from the books/videos for teaching. I know it is open source but still want to confirm is it free to modify/reuse/distribute the contents of the book and videos of this course?

Guys, I need a trainer for my ROS online training courses. Do let me know if anyone is interested email - info@cairsoft.com
