Hardware Interfaces Working Group #17 Meeting 2/2 (Thursday)

For #17 on 2/2 we will update and review some recent issues related to interface performance and some different approaches that have emerged/been released.

Also, looking forward to feedback to more clearly define sub-groups/area of focus and seeking some commitment relative to generating meaningful outcomes.

Ideally this will inform sub-group tasking and aid in setting a more consistent path forward to a path towards identifying semantics for hardware interfaces in particular. If not, then where can we make contributions/define practices?

Thanks!

Hello. Thanks for the couple that made it today.

We touched on both past items, i.e. examples of OEM semantic definition of motion and the controls that influence motion
Moved on to the recent announcement of MicroROS-based interface for ROS 2 by Yaskawa
The issues emerging around RMW interoperability - mainly between FastDDS and Cyclone
Finally talking about logistics for this working group and how to make it more effective.

Check out the notes and thanks to those that made it.

Matt R.

Reminder there is NOT an hIWG meeting today. We will shift the recurring meeting to synch back up with the recurring ROS events meeting for next occurrence.

Thanks!
