Planned Migration of ROS Answers and Gazebo Answers to Robotics Stack Exchange

This may seem like an odd question but are questions related to ROS and ROS development welcome on this new stack exchange site? The reason I ask this is traditionally stack exchange sites are really heavily moderated to only be about the topic of the stack exchange. Calling this the Robotics stack exchange would lead me to believe certain types of questions would not be welcome.

Here is an example question I posted today: ros2 - How do you automate fixing formatting errors found by ament_cpplint? - Robotics Stack Exchange

I tried to tag it with something more relevant than ros2 but was not able to find any tags for things like ament_lint or ament or rclcpp or the like.

The ability to create new tags is granted when you reach a reputation of 150. This isn’t hard to achieve – roughly six good answers. So soon you will be able to create those tags and others will be able to start using them.

Re. the question of being welcome: Here is the meta-SO discussion from two years ago when I was one of the ones suggesting this migration. Back then the Robotics StackExchange was what the moderator who chimed in suggested. I read that as yes, it’s welcome.

Funny you say that, this is the comment I just received on that question:

Yeah, I guess that specific question of yours was really about cpplint, i.e., really not specific to the use of cpplint in the context of ROS or robotics for that matter. But as you can tell from the popularity of tags on that site, ROS is the sixth most popular tag on the site:

Normally though, questions like what I’m asking there would be posted to ros-answers as they are off-topic for a github issue (as I’m not suggesting a change or reporting a bug) and would also not be appropriate for this forum. Is there another better place to ask ROS developers about the tools they choose to make part of the core set of linters?
