I am interested in applying causal reasoning to the problem of autonomous vehicle safety. In particular, I am hoping to apply the methods discussed in “The Book of Why” to problems such as:
- Identifying hidden confounder variables that affect safety (e.g., hills, ice conditions).
- Deciding whether simulation or real-world data can be moved between operating areas (e.g., different cities).
