After some twiddling of the Discourse email settings, we seem to have got well back under the limit for our current plan. This is good news!
However, that twisting of knobs and flicking of switches might have disabled email notifications you were relying on. I encourage everyone to please check your notification settings and ensure you are still going to receive the notifications you want, if any.
