Head of Robotics and Full Stack Robotic Engineer (Brussels and/or Barcelona)

About the role:

Head of Robotics – A senior technologist and leader with expertise in software enabled Robotic (UAVs and AGVs/AMRs) Control and Orchestration.

Working closely with and under the guidance of the CTO you will play a key role in the continued evolution of our software platform on the technology roadmap as envisioned by the CTO and will be involved in further expanding the team to succesfully deliver the roadmap.

This is a senior role in our Tech team which will lead a team of talented robotic engineers working on game-changing tech to develop commercial grade, autonomous robotic swarm solutions for the Industry 4.0 and Smart City markets.

This is a hands on role for someone who likes to roll up the sleeves as needed (instead of delegating everytime) to develop solutions, troubleshoot and potentially code daily.

You will be the technical lead on multiple projects contributing to requirements analysis, solution design, leading and engaging with customers, project partners and suppliers at a technical level.

While promoting high standards of code with your team and championing test-driven development. You will mentor less experienced engineers, assessing and appraising their quality of work and set targets around this.

You will set the standard when it comes to teamwork and collaboration throughout the solution development process while ensuring that software meets real-world usage scenarios.

Requirements

Minimum 6 years of experience in the field of Robotics with a focus on software for AGVs, UAV’s and other Robotic devices

Solution Architecture and Design experience for AGV and/or Drone enabled solutions

Deep knowledge of ROS (preferably ROS 2), C++ and Python for development in a Linux environment

Excellent knowledge of localisation and positioning techniques and approaches e.g. SLAM

Useful to have – AI and Machine Learning Knowledge and Experience

Excellent handle, knowledge and experience of coding standards, algorithms and computational complexity, data structures and control engineering

Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience (internal and external stakeholders)

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong multi-tasking, time management and organisational skills

Experience with creating and deploying Docker containers

Experience with distributed systems

Education Required

Bachelors, Master’s or PhD in computer science, engineering, robotics, mechatronics or equivalent.

Remuneration:** €65,000 - €85,000 Gross Annual Salary Dependent upon experience, company stock and benefits.

Full Stack Robotics Engineer – An experienced full stack software engineer and technologist with expertise in software enabled Robotic (UAVs and AGVs/AMRs) Control and Orchestration.

Working closely with and under the guidance of the CTO you will play a key role in the continued evolution of our software platform on the technology roadmap as envisioned by the CTO with the main focus on design and development of the next generation of our web-based user interface and integration with third party solutions.

This is a key role in our Tech team which will lead on the full stack delivery on one or both of our core products for Industry 4.0 and Smart City markets respectively, working alongside a team of talented robotic software engineers and developers.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly skilled developer to join a fast growing business at an early stage of its growth journey.

As a leader you will technically advise and guide the successful delivery of multiple projects contributing to requirements analysis, solution design, leading and engaging with customers, project partners and suppliers at a technical level as appropriate.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience across, Front and Backend development as well as Databases, and DevOps. Ideally this would be in the field of Robotics with a focus on software for AGVs, Drones and other Robotic devices

Solution Architecture and Design experience for AGV and/or Drone enabled solutions

Should have NodeJS and VueJS knowledge and skills

Front End – Varying knowledge and experience ideally across all of the following, with expertise in a couple:

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, and ReactJS

Back End – Varying knowledge and experience across all of the following, with expertise in a couple:

  • C++, Python, Java, PHP, knowledge of ROS is a plus

Databases – Varying knowledge and experience ideally across all of the following, with expertise in a couple:

  • MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle Database, and SQL Server

DevOps – Varying knowledge and experience ideally across all of the following, with expertise in a couple:

  • CI/CD (Continuous integration and continuous delivery) and related tools such as GitLab and Jenkins

Excellent handle, knowledge and experience of coding standards, object-oriented programming, data structures and design patterns.

Strong Linux competency

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong multi-tasking, time management and organisational skills

Useful to have – AI and Machine Learning interest and knowledge.

Useful to have - Stakeholder management skills and experience (internal and external stakeholders)

Useful to have - Experience with Docker containers

Education Required
