Interim policy on the use of generative AI in OSRF projects

Not according to your charter. Elections, the formation of the TGC, and minutes are the responsibility of the TGC Chair and the OSRF Board. My questions are always toward those in charge; I didn’t ask you. Anyway you say you are a delegate but we still do not know how you are elected or appointed. Whom do you represent?

As I said, I don’t care about your content. You suddenly announced a policy under the name of the TGC without the prior introduction of those committees. Interestingly, none of the members and the Chair care about the procedures you have written and signed. It seems the old business prevails. This document is your only source of legitimacy, and you ignore it.

So you do not need me to bash your governance. You do it by yourselves.

For those unfamiliar with the legal stuff, I want to add that procedural norms take precedence over substance. It is similar to desk reject for a conference submission when you are not using their predefined format. Then, you may try to tell the chairs that they are not in a productive discussion. It is that basic.

@doganulus I must say I’m less and less interested in your thoughts (not only in this thread). It is good to point to things that should be done according to the governing docs, but your over-formal approach is not constructive. All other people here on the forum ™ respect the opinions of others, while you desk-reject some opinions for arbitrary reasons when they do not align with your world view. I’d be really happy if you posted less in this thread because your chain of thought clutters it and goes quite off-topic.

The people on formal positions on TGC are still only people and ROSies, and I don’t consider them robots that are able to 100% follow all rules at all times. We as community should help them getting close, and not bash them for each small deviation (unless the deviations become too frequent or too planned).

I know that. I respect that. We will see the results.
