Locus Robotics is Hiring!

Do you love working with robots? Of course you do. This is ROS Discourse.

Do you like working with robots from the comfort of your own home? Of course you do. Thanks to COVID, you’re probably reading this in your pyjamas.

Locus Robotics, having recently attained Unicorn status, is hiring for a number of technical roles for our Robotics Software Team. These include positions for navigation, perception, tools, simulation, data engineering, and more! Locus has been supporting remote employment since 2016, with the majority of the Robotics Software Team being remote before the pandemic. These new roles can be remote, onsite at either our Wilmington, MA or Amsterdam, NL offices, or hybrid.

We also have a number of open roles on other teams. See our careers page for more details.

Locus is a wonderful place to work - our team is a tight-knit mix of geographically distributed developers, and we’re great at working collaboratively to solve challenging problems. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions about the listed roles, otherwise please apply via the links above!

What will you build with us?

Hi
It looks really interesting.
Are there any restrictions in terms of age?? Are the positions completely remote? We are a consultancy company composed by two guys who used to work in robotic field. Now we are looking for interesting remote job opportunity.
Thank you so much about the answer.

Hi there,

I’m not sure what you mean by age restrictions. I imagine you’d be subject to the employment laws in your country. The positions can be remote (but not everywhere - there is a limit to which countries we can support), onsite in Amsterdam, NL or onsite in the Boston area in Massachusetts, USA.

Hope this helps!

Hi @automatom are you still hiring for the perception roles? I just applied via the website.

Do you apply for resident permits as well? I live and work in the Netherlands, but I’m not a permanent resident yet.

Hi, @automatom are there any intern roles available?
Thank you

@adityakamath If I understand your question correctly, we are not sponsoring residence permits yet, but could in the near future. Feel free to DM me if I’ve misunderstood you.

EDIT: and yes, if a role is still open on our jobs site, then it has not yet been filled.

@pr-db We are creating an intern role on our jobs page to give intern candidates a place to apply. Keep an eye on that space.

Hi Tom,
It seems interesting, I am wondering, software positions are very specific (Location & Mapping, Planning & Controls, Hardware/sensor, UI, …) I have worked in all of these equally. Should I do 3 applications or can I do just one?

Hi @bernatgaston,

Our team is organized into sub-groups that focus on different components of the software, so you should ideally apply to the area that you would consider your strongest (or the one that interests you the most!).

Thanks,
Tom
