We are renaming the monthly MoveIt Maintainer Meeting, which has been held regularly since 2016, to the Manipulation Working Group (WG). This is to align with the release of MoveIt 2 Beta and bring the MoveIt project more standardized with other ROS projects.
There was a short-lived Manipulation WG last year, but because the MoveIt Maintainer meeting continued there was too much overlap and it was discontinued.
The goal of this WG is to enhance robotic arm motion planning, including mobile manipulation, within the ROS ecosystem. We will continue to discuss topics for both MoveIt 1 (on ROS 1) and MoveIt 2 (on ROS 2) as the codebases are still being synced and have not diverged too much yet.
