What is your price point for a ROS2 hobby robot? A repurposed Neato Botvac and a Raspberry Pi 4 could be used for about $300.

Also, you might want to check out the linobot project.

I wish that pricing reflected reality. RPI4 are typically about $200 today for an 8GB if you can find them. Too bad profiteering doesn’t apply to non-essentials.
