Postdoc, agri-robotics, University of Lincoln UK: vision, planning, control, mechatronics

University of Lincoln and ARWAC are hiring two postdocs in agricultural robotics, planning, machine vision, control systems, and drones. ROS/cpp/Python/mechatronics/publishing papers/presenting at conferences etc. Help us reduce herbicide use around the world through precision robotic agriculture and open-source tools.

The work will incorporate and build on the successful IBEX2 agri-robotics technology, which was selected as an exemplary project by Innovate UK. Applicants will need to demonstrate an interest in agriculture and significant skills and experience in relevant computer sciences. They will also have the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including excellent verbal and written communication. Applicants should have, or expect to soon obtain, a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area, also excellent mathematical and coding skills (C++/Python, ROS, PCL, OpenCV).

The University of Lincoln is leading the 6.5M GBP UK Center for Doctoral Training, with partners the University of Cambridge and the University of East Anglia. This is the largest agri-robotics facility in the UK. There may be opportunities to work and coauthor with the other partner universities and to co-supervise PhD students from the center during this project.
