The ROS PMC meeting for this week was on Tuesday. The notes from the meeting are available at ROS PMC weekly meeting agenda
This week we:
- Discussed improving automatic documentation checks, specifically around the “one sentence per line rules”. Thanks to @DLu and @tomoyafujita for working on scripts to automate this and @kscottz for surfacing it to the PMC
- Discussed the launch_ros PR on handling the interaction between namespaces and the component container
- Discussed dropping using the Discourse Chat for release sync announcements.
- Flagged the additional levels in diagnostics messages topic on discourse. Interested parties should follow up in the thread itself. Thanks to @ct2034 for flagging this to the PMC.
- @mjcarroll floated the idea of an
absl::Status
type ROS message to encapsulate service responses
The next ROS PMC meeting will be on February 18, 2025: Open Source Robotics Foundation official events.
The ROS PMC meets on a weekly basis to discuss details of the ROS 2 core. This is a working meeting, where only members of the ROS PMC and associated committers may speak. However, anyone is welcome to join as an observer. Come and find out how ROS 2 is developed!
If you have questions or comments, please leave them in this thread.
Edit: Changed to the correct Christian (@ct2034).
Edit: Updated the title to 2025, and not, in fact, 2023
