Sync hold 2022-09-19 - 2022-09-20 for planned maintenance`

The ROS infrastructure team is preparing for the deployment of a new backend for managing RPM (RHEL) repositories on the ROS 2 build farm.

In order to make this deployment we have planned for a maintenance window one week from today on 2022-09-20T07:00:00Z.

Prior to the start of this maintenance window we will also be holding all ROS 2 releases in ros/rosdistro starting at 2022-09-19T19:00:00Z in order to allow all package builds to complete before putting the build farm in shutdown mode during the deployment. Held releases will be merged after the deployment is complete later on 2022-09-20T07:00:00Z.

The official ROS repositories at will remain online during this maintenance window.

Downtime for this deployment has begun. We’ll be monitoring the Packaging and Release Management Discourse chat for any questions or concerns from the community.

The deployment has finished, and the scheduled maintenance period and sync hold are concluded.
