DYNAMIXEL Shield for Arduino Portenta H7 and MKR series

Hi Community!

Have you read the exciting news about micro-ROS Arduino now supports Arduino Portenta H7?

As there are many developers who are looking for a solution for an embedded based ROS platform, it is my absolute pleasure to introduce a new DYNAMIXEL Shield that is compatible with Arduino MKR series and Portenta H7.

This small shield is a perfect solution for controlling DYNAMIXEL smart actuator on Arduino, and especially, for recently released lineup XL330-M288-T or XL330-M077-T that supports low voltage (<6.0V)

XL330 supports operating mode such as Current, Velocity, Position, PWM and more, and can be directly connected to RC receivers as it supports S.BUS, iBUS, RC-PWM protocols.

You can take a look at how DYNAMIXEL Shield can be used with Arduino boards.

More examples and useful videos are upcoming.
What would you make with this shield?

3D modeling is also available via Tinkercad.

Hi Will! That’s great news! Hopefully, we’ll soon see a micro-ROS node sending info such as the speed and position of the DYNAMIXEL actuators straight into the ROS 2 ecosystem :raised_hands: :raised_hands: :raised_hands:

Such a great synergy of top-notch technologies :sunglasses:
