Hacktoberfest Ignition Meetup

Hello Gazebo Community,

Finally, the collaboration meetup is arriving. In the enthusiastic atmosphere of the :tada: Hacktoberfest :tada: let’s be together, learning and collaborating with this amazing :fire: Ignition project and :fire: make it possible to pick a really cool T-shirt.

The idea of this event is to get the Gazebo community closer, increasing our knowledge and connections. It’ll be a really nice opportunity for those that always want to collaborate with an Open Source Project and didn’t know how to start. Having other contributors together make it easier to get some hints, ask some doubts, or even overcome some “mystic” compilation problems that always happen :mage: :woman_mage:. Not to mention it’s a lot more fun hacking together :partying_face: :tada:

If it’ll be your first time some suggestions:

  1. Take a look at the Igniton Contributing guide
  2. To collaborate you need to have the project that you want to make collaboration installed from source. If you wanna install the entire Ignition project, take a look at this tutorial
  3. See some issues that you’d like to work on. The tag good first issue is a good reference. Here some suggestions:
    1. Many objects are not std::move-able - Ignition-math
    2. Add functions from Vector3 to Vector2 and Vector4 - Ignition-math
    3. error printing vectors with ±inf [gazebo issue 2020] - Ignition-math
    4. Windows installation instructions - Ignition-docs
    5. Document high-level system architecture - Ignition-docs
    6. Indicate collection version for each library version - Ignition-docs
    7. Copy pose button on Component inspector - Ignition-gazebo
