I just wanted to announce that we started in June 2020 a project of open source simulator dedicated to maritime robotics researchers. We call this simulator Plankton.
And we are happy to share that we released a beta version of Plankton yesterday!
This first step has involved making the famous UUV_Simulator compatible with ROS 2 (Eloquent, and soon Foxy). The next step will focus on performance and visual fidelity improvements, for a new release by the end of the year.
