Safety Working Group: Monthly presentations

The Safety Working Group is changing its format a bit, starting from next month. Rather than having two meetings a month to discuss projects, we are going to have a single meeting each month. Most importantly, we aim to have a presentation every month from someone using ROS in a safety-critical way. Because of the high quality needs of safety-critical systems, we hope that these talks will prove informational and educational to anyone building production-quality systems using ROS, not just people working in the safety-critical space.

Our first presentation will take place on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 2:00 PM. It will be given by Shawn Schaerer.

Safety In Off Highway Autonomous Vehicles
A case study on Autonomous Vehicles in Airports

This talk we will go over how we approach safety development at Northstar Robotics. We will also present a case study on our work on autonomous airport snow plows and how to make a 25,000 kg snow plow safe.

If you are interested, please join the meeting. You can find the meeting information in the ROS events calendar. To receive automatic meeting invitations to all Safety WG events, join the invite group.

This sounds very interesting. Iā€™m sorry I missed this presentation. Were there any slides that could be made available?
