We are thrilled to announce the launch of AWS RoboMaker WorldForge a new AWS Robotics capability that will make it easier for developers to create Gazebo simulation worlds in AWS RoboMaker and accelerate ROS application development.
With AWS RoboMaker WorldForge, robotics application developers and QA engineers can automatically create hundreds of user-defined, randomized 3D virtual environments that mimic real-world conditions without extra engineering investment or infrastructure management. Having a large number of 3D virtual worlds enables developers to easily increase the scale and variance of simulations to support large-scale simulation workloads. Scaling simulation makes regression testing more robust, reinforcement learning faster, and synthetic data generation more affordable.
WorldForge currently supports indoor residential home environments. With WorldForge, you can create worlds with configurations including floor plans and furnishings. You can also define how many variations the randomized worlds will have, and how many worlds WorldForge will create for you. To get started, please explore the RoboMaker webpage or start generating simulation worlds in the AWS RoboMaker console.
