Announcing Release 2.3.1 of the VRX Simulation Environment

We are pleased to announce the release of version 2.3.1 of the VRX simulation platform! Please check out our new Release 2.3.1 Highlight Video for a quick tour.

The VRX platform is a virtual environment built in Gazebo, designed for accelerating development of unmanned surface vehicles. It also serves as the virtual “venue” for the VRX Competition, a virtual competition closely coordinated with the RobotX Challenge.

Release 2.3.1 contains the finalized features, interfaces and documentation for the VRX 2023 Competition, to be held in Fall of 2023. No further changes will be made before the competition, except to address critical bugs. We have also updated and expanded the VRX Wiki with many new tutorials.

For further information about the VRX 2023 Competition, including documentation, schedule, registration, the competitor Discord Channel and more, please refer to the VRX 2023 Website and the VRX Wiki.

As always, comments, questions and contributions are welcome. And if you’re eligible to compete, we hope you’ll sign up!
