A new release of ros_comm
(1.17.0) has been pushed to the ros-testing
apt repository for ROS Noetic. This is an uncommon event as it means almost all packages in ROS Noetic get rebuilt.
How can you help?
Please switch to the ros-testing
repository and try out the updated ros_comm
packages using the instructions here: TestingRepository - ROS Wiki
If you encounter any issues, please open an issue on the ros_comm
repository: Issues · ros/ros_comm · GitHub, and then post a link to the issue in this thread.

When will this be available in the main apt repo?
If no issues are reported, I will do a sync freeze on October 1st and the sync itself on October 3rd. At that point the updated packages will available to everyone in the main apt repo.
