the Autonomous Systems Group of Eurecat Technology Center is offering several opportunities for highly motivated researchers to join our group in Barcelona. As a technology center, we are located between academia and industry: applying robotics research to continuously innovate and help our partners and clients. A great opportunity to develop robotics technology and applications working in National and H2020 research projects or hand by hand with our customers in several of our private contracts with industry. The main responsibilities include the scientific contribution, technological development and support to two of our research lines:
o Robust localization and navigation (i.e. EKF, Particle filters, SLAM, Graph-SLAM, solvers, special planners, reinforcement learning, etc)
o 3D robotics and artificial intelligence (i.e. 3D perception, Object recognition, Deep slam, Semantic navigation, etc )
o Other specializations and backgrounds may be considered to complement our robotics team.
The candidates will work with different type of mobile robots in logistics, advanced manufacturing and in field applications (construction, agriculture, etc), as well as, autonomous drones (MAVs) in complex inspection and monitoring tasks.
Required skills
o PhD or MSc plus equivalent experience in Robotics/Computer Vision or related discipline.
o Scientific background in at least one of the following areas of robotics: SLAM and localization methods, path planning, vision-based robotics, 3D perception, and artificial intelligence/deep learning.
o Knowledge about ROS (Robot Operating System) and good programming skills (C++ mostly),
o Knowledge on the following would be evaluated: algorithm and data structures, reusable code, Python, PyTorch and/or TensorFlow, unit testing, and software documentation.
o Team spirit and ability to work independently.
o Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and creativity.
o Excellent knowledge of English is required.
o Experience with robotics mechanics and electronics would be considered relevant as well.

Our laboratory is located in Cerdanyola del Vallès, in the outskirts of Barcelona city (Spain).
