micro-ROS CAN/FD support

micro-ROS supports CAN/FD transport in the RA Family MCUs.

CAN FD (Controller Area Network Flexible Data-Rate) is a data-communication protocol used for broadcasting sensor data and control information on 2 wire interconnections between different parts of electronic instrumentation and control system.

This protocol is commonly used in modern high performance vehicles and it is an extension to the original CAN bus protocol (ISO 11898-1). CAN FD (Flexible Data) was developed to meet the new requirements of modern automotive systems based on Electronic Control Units (ECU)s that run on MCUs.

CAN/FD is supported in Micro XRCE-DDS v2.1 1. eProsima Micro XRCE-DDS is the middleware of the micro-ROS framework.

The RA family is the reference platform of micro-ROS, the framework that brings MCu to ROS 2. The support of CAN/FD in micro-ROS allows automotive applications based on ECUs to be accelerated and reduce the time to market.
