The simulation team at Open Robotics holds monthly virtual meetings open to the community. This month, we’ll have a couple of presentations involving ROS , so we’re cross-posting it here in case the wider ROS community is interested.
Hi, community!
We’re kicking off the year with an exciting community meeting featuring virtual competitions and simulation-enabled CI testing!
Pan-African Robotics Competition
Kenechukwu Mbanisi was the lead organizer for the 2021 Pan-African Robotics Competition. The 2021 competition was virtual and had teams develop software using ROS and Gazebo for simulation, reaching over 30 countries in Africa! Kene will tell us all about the experience running the competition.
Simulation-based CI for ROS 2 robots with Ignition Gazebo
Users often ask us how they can leverage simulation to run continuous integration for their robotic systems. During this meeting @chapulina (yours truly) will go over an example of setting up CI for free using GitHub Actions, ROS 2 Rolling, Ignition Fortress, and the Dolly robot. This will be a shorter version of this presentation from All Things Open 2021, more focused on users who are already familiar with ROS and Gazebo, so bring your questions!
