About the Job
This role will be in our Artificially Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (AIMS) Lab at the Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME). We partner with industry professionals, university academics, and manufacturers to convert the latest algorithms into robust manufacturing solutions.
CDME offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diversity of projects where you may serve as a researcher, designer, or developer. Our portfolio covers both community R&D exploration and focused client projects. As a part of the university, we also contribute to making robotics and ROS more accessible to our regional community – from high school to professionals.

Eligibility
This position will require access to export controlled data and work in an export controlled facility. Eligibility for this position is restricted to “U.S. persons” as defined in U.S. export control regulations. “U.S. persons” include:

(4) individuals otherwise described as “protected individuals” pursuant to Title 8 U.S. Code Section 1324b(a)(3)(b).
Pay Range:
The targeted hiring range for this position is $92,000 to $123,000.

Desired Education:
PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, Robotics or related field
Desired Experience:
- Experience with industrial automation, six-axis robots
- C++, Python, ROS and ROS 2, Unity, C#, OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Linux CLI, Git, network administration, Solidworks, AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience in a supervisory capacity over direct reports or processes is highly desired
