ROS 2 I Name Brainstorming

The release date for ROS 2 Humble Hawksbill is now less than a month away. As we traditionally announce the name of the following distribution when a new distribution is released, it’s time to begin brainstorming (namestorming?) the name for the ROS 2 I-Turtle release.

Here are some good criteria that I think make a good adjective/codename:

• easy to type and spell (considering this will show up in apt package names, in folders, git branch names, etc.): rules out “igneous”, “immovable”
• easy to say
• not easily confused with another technology, group, or application: rules out “industrial” (not to be confused with ROS-Industrial), “intersystem”, “intergalactic” (not to be confused with “galactic”)
• positive: rules out “idle”, “invalid”, etc.

So my votes are:

• icy (my favorite)
