ROS Developer (unmanned ground vehicle) UK South

We are searching for ROS programmer to help swing an existing remote robotic system to ROS and continue development.

Our unmanned vehicle technology is teleop based with a road map to some autonomy, hardware and model is proven but we now want to switch up to a real robot OS!

Required Skills:
Real world ROS development on robotic hardware
Experienced C++ programmer
Experience and understanding of out bound hardware: CAN, analog and digital IO
Strong oral and written communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of state-machine driven automation

Some experience in the following would be advantageous:
Machine vision
Long range wireless communications (with ROS)

Our systems work in an environment like no other, giving us real world challenges to solve, sometimes on the fly or within a quick development cycle.

Ideally looking for a contractor which could turn into full time as the product develops, we are located in Surrey and Oxford UK, location is not a major if we find the right person to work with.
