I am pleased to announce that we are launching the new Embodied AI Community Group dedicated to the topic of applications of Generative AI to ROS 2 robotics.
It is thrilling to see that the initiative is met with a great response from the community both through responses to a call for interest
(Embodied AI Community Group - Call of Interest) and a lively Birds of Feather Embodied AI session at ROSCon 2024 in Odense, it is time to kick things off!
A GitHub space, members mailing group and a shared meetings document have all been initialized. Following time zone preferences from our first registered members, I decided for 12th November at 16:00 UTC for our first group meeting (meeting link), with apologies to the Japanese members of the community.
You can visit the repository page ROS Embodied AI Community Group · GitHub to find links to the document, join the member mailing group and propose additional agenda points for the kick-off.
i would love to join the meeting but i will be attending and presenting at the KubeCon / Co-Located events, so i will miss the 1st meeting.
Note: Tuesday 16:00 UTC (8 AM / PST), we have ROS PMC meeting every week. So I am not gonna be able to make it… that is something we can discuss on 1st meeting though. (I would like either Mon, Thu or Friday with same time slot.)
Do you have a meeting link that you can share for folks to find / join? I assume its on the ROS Community Calendar, but linking that for passersby would be great
I was planning to join the meeting, but unfortunately, a scheduling conflict came up at the planned time. Will there be a recording available afterward by any chance, @adamdbrw?
Definitely, we will record the meeting. I also want to make sure that the next meeting date is better suited for you and other group members that couldn’t join the first one.
I am happy to share that the first meeting happened with great attendance (28 people)! See the meeting notes: ROS Embodied AI Working Group - Google Docs as well as slides. Group background and intro as well as RAI and ROSA frameworks were presented.
If you wish to attend the next meeting, indicate your preference for date and time out of 6 possibilities here: Microsoft Forms. Feel welcome to suggest agenda items for the next meeting, present your project and reach out to collaborate.
