We were not able to get to an important discussion this week about the design of reindexing rosbags (discovering metadata after the fact for bags with missing, corrrupt, or incorrect metadata). @jhdcs has been working hard on an implementation, and we will be taking the breakout session to discuss the best path forward for that project - the design itself, as well as discussing the best review process for large contributions in the rosbag2 project.
This will use the existing “Tooling Working Group - Breakout Session” meeting on ROS Events
i am interested in this. there is gonna be recording available? and if we already have related PR or Issues in github, i’d like to see and check on that. thanks
Always glad to have another pair of eyes! The issue in github is here, while the work I have done on it so far is located at this PR. Sorry about the messy git history. The latest rollback of my work didn’t go so well…
I know it’s not passing all checks just yet, I’m going to be trying to give it a bit of polish this week before the meeting, but currently something in my environment went kaput. So gotta fix that before I can begin polishing!
