ros-drivers/transport_drivers not maintained

Dear ros-drivers oweners! It seems to be that the transport_drivers is unmaintained since more than a year. Issues and pull requests are not answered.

E.g. a critical bug in udp_drivers was still not merged back to humble (Resize msg_converter/udp_msgs at runtime not at compile time by jjannik · Pull Request #100 · ros-drivers/transport_drivers · GitHub). Any ideas on that?

do you also want to use transport_drivers? Could you answer my few questions:

  1. For what are you going to use this repo?
  2. I am planning to let one ros2 node in ip_a send ros2 messages as UDP to another ros2 node in ip_b. Is this possible? If so, how should I utilize this repo?

@mpostl it might help to reach out to one of the maintainers directly. I know @esteve is on Discourse and pretty friendly. I am sure they could use maintenance help.
