ROS News for the Week of July 22nd, 2024

The ROSCon JP logo was released this week and it is super awesome like always! The event is just two months away!

Check out the Wolf Actuator, a high-torque, 3D-printable, open hardware planetary robotic actuator.

It was a big week for ROS sensors. Our friends over at Fraunhofer released an updated ROS 2 driver for GenICam-based (GigEVision and USB3Vision) cameras. My intern, @Akashleena, is working on a summer project to provide guidance to sensor vendors on how to best support the ROS community. If you have a second please weigh in on what makes a good sensor package in this thread.

We’ve got three ROS and Gazebo events happening next week!

2024-07-30 Celebrating Women in Open Source Robotics @ Intrinsic

2024-07-31 Gazebo Community Meeting

2024-08-01 ROS By-The-Bay: Cloud Robotics
