ROS News for the Week of July 29th, 2024

:rocket: Big news from the Space ROS team! NASA has sponsored a Space ROS Sprint challenge!. NASA plans to award US$10K in prizes for the top contributions to the Space ROS repository. You need to act quickly though, the event ends in September!

Windows 10 goes end of life in 2025, and the ROS team is reconsidering how ROS will support Windows 11. Don’t worry though, Windows support isn’t going way! If you are a ROS on Windows user your feedback is requested via this Google form.

@bperseghetti was the presenter for our July Gazebo Community Meeting and he put together a phenomenal talk on some of the features available in Gazebo Harmonic. It is worth a watch!

Our own @scastro put together a fantastic blog post on, “Advice to Young Engineers” that is worth a read! I highly recomend it as it echos the sentiments I hear expressed by many of the ROS core devs.
