LOL. I thought this was referring to @smac. Sounds like a very neat tool, though!
The original impetus behind the project was to preserve @smac for eternity. And so we attempted to design a Turing complete model of him, which quickly led the engineering team to evaluate state machines. We’re hoping a ROS2 version will be indistinguishable to his friends;)

and what a frightening prospect, indeed. I can just see it now, future generations of roboticists asking me why I won’t program in Rust or why I have so many post-it notes on my virtual desk.
