Visualizing Point Clouds with Custom Colors using ROS Schemas

When visualizing point cloud data gathered by your robot’s sensors, you may want to customize point colors to help you analyze the scan. Using customized point clouds can make a scan easier to interpret at a glance and streamline your analysis.

Most recently on the Foxglove blog, we’ve published a tutorial on how to use either standard ROS schemas or framework-agnostic Foxglove schemas to display colorized point clouds in our open source data viz app Foxglove Studio.

We hope this tutorial helps you make sense of your dense sensor data!

Please feel free to reach out to us in our Slack community if you have any other visualization requests!
