Join us for World MoveIt Day 2023 - Celebrating 10 Years of MoveIt Open-Source Software! June 8th

Hello everyone!

We’re excited to announce that World MoveIt Day 2023 is just around the corner! This year marks the 7th annual event celebrating the incredible MoveIt open-source software, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary since the inception of MoveIt.

World MoveIt Day is an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and showcase the most advanced technologies in robotics. It’s a global event that brings together developers, roboticists, and enthusiasts to share ideas, collaborate, and have some fun.

This year’s hackathon competition promises to be especially thrilling, featuring cutting-edge technologies such as Machine Learning (ML) and the newly-released Python Bindings for MoveIt. With generous sponsorship from Elephant Robotics and PickNik Robotics, the event will offer fantastic prizes for participants.

The first prize is an Elephant Robotics 6DOF robot arm, second prize is a Valve Steam Deck, and third prize is an Intel RealSense camera! Plus, all participants will receive a free WMD2023 t-shirt.

Whether you’re an experienced developer or simply interested in learning more about the world of MoveIt, World MoveIt Day 2023 is the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow robotic enthusiasts, showcase your skills, and win amazing prizes.

Don’t miss out on this exciting event! Join us virtually or in-person at PickNik Robotics headquarters in Boulder, Colorado, on June 8th, to celebrate the amazing technology of MoveIt.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Replying to this post to bump this. If Python and/or ML things sound like fun to hack on please sign up and attend.

Can I come and watch the competition?
The sign up seems is only for competition participants.
Thanks
Ting

Of course, please come and sign up. The competition thing is meant to make the event more fun, not be some sort of overly official thing.

This is a hackathon, not prepared projects, so how long does it take that day? Also, are there any skill requirements to being in the competition?
