ROS News for the Week of December 10th, 2023

Congratulations to our colleagues in India for holding their first ever ROSCon! The event was sold out and it looks like it was a smashing success.

Drop what you are doing and go check out this ROS mining robot from a European consortium called RoboMiners. It has lasers, eats rock for breakfast, and has an amazing propulsion system, all using ROS and Gazebo.

Check out this point cloud to Gazebo model tool chain I found this week! This should make testing a whole lot easier!

Check out this handy LLM-based CLI tool @tomoyafujita put together called ROS2AI

Great to see that project is still up! They had made a presentation about using ROS for railway maintenance robots (and creating a ROS for Railways community) back at ROSCon FR 2019: ROSCon FR 2019 - ROS for Railways on Vimeo
