The last Aerial ROS meeting of the year… and it will be a Christmassy one! :christmas_tree: :christmas_tree:

We will be joined by my colleage and co-founder Arnaud from Bitcraze where we will discuss demo-driven development about all the yearly Christmas videos Bitcraze has done with the Crazyflies in the years! And we might have an interesting announcement, or two :wink:

Also we will have some general announcements about the ROS community, the aerial robotics landscape updates and a moment where people can quickly share their own personal project (kudos if it is in the holiday theme!)

If you have any updates for the Aerial Robotics Landscape you’d like to add, now would be the time as well and I’ll mention it during the meeting.

Just a reminder for todays meeting in a few hours (see the join info above). Also mind that it is 2 hours later than usual.

Updates from the Community

  • Ramon (@mrpollo) - There was a presentation about F’ (Fprime) and inguinity at the Space Linux Workshop last week
  • Alexis (@TOTON95) - Looking for help to integrate event cameras into embedded ROS. Please DM if you are interesting in helping out

Important Housekeeping Announcements

  • I (@KimMcG) will be leaving Bitcraze at the end of the 2024.
  • Kim will still help out co-leading the group and organizing the meeting
  • The videos will starting in the new year no longer be published on the Bitcraze channel but on Vimeo. The old videos have already been uploaded there:

Next meeting will be on the 22nd of January 2025 (preliminary). I’ll start a ROS discourse thread 2 weeks before to confirm
