ROS News for the Week of July 10th, 2023
MoveIt Studio 2.0 and MoveIt 2.7 for Iron have been released!
Congratulations to our friends at The Construct on another successful ROS Developers Day. I believe the videos should be posted shortly.
Ciare World Creator has been released. It is an open-source, LLM-based, CLI for creating simulation worlds in Gazebo and other platforms. This looks really interesting. Has anyone given it a shot?
Check out this Docker ROS package that automatically builds development and deployment Docker images for your ROS-based repositories from Institut fΓΌr Kraftfahrzeuge, RWTH Aachen.
Looking to pick up a couple of racks of cash? Our colleagues at OpenCV announced their 2023 computer vision competition last week. Check it out on Hackster.

- My favorite local transit activist is disabling autonomous vehicles with traffic cones. β Slate.
- Iβm a bit torn on this. I am a beta tester for one of these companies and I have seen their performance improve dramatically in the past year. On one hand I have seen cars navigate surprisingly complex traffic accidents autonomously. On the other hand I have seen the vehicles interact poorly with with public transit. I think more dialogue on this topic is important. I would be interested in hearing your opinions on fully autonomous vehicles in the wild.
